Lindy ChinneryI learnt the fundamentals of weaving from tutor, Ailsa Trainor in Sydney in 1992. Since 1997 I have woven professionally and now work full time from my studio and gallery in Lawrence, New Zealand.

Weaving gives me the ability to design my own individual fabrics, made with the highest quality materials, that follows an entirely manual process. It also allows me to indulge my love of colour and texture, usually dyeing the yarn to achieve a richness and depth of colour to create a unique piece.

The philosophy I work by is to create distinctive and interesting pieces, combining the traditions of  weaving, with a vision to create contemporary fabrics.

My work has been shown in exhibitions throughout New Zealand and has gained recognition through major national and local awards. It has also been represented in publications in New Zealand and overseas.
