Hand Dyed Yarn

Hello, I’m Lindy

I am a weaver, lucky to call New Zealand home. My practice is driven by a deep passion for colour and texture, exploring the interplay of hand-dyed yarns to create unique, expressive textiles. Weaving, for me, is a thoughtful and deliberate process — a transformation of simple white threads into vibrant works that celebrate both craft and creativity. Each piece is the result of careful attention, patience, and a genuine labour of love.

Now they are off the loom, I secured each edge with a zig zag stitch on my sewing machine, then cut apart and washed them. I knew there would be two that were extra long, but I think I did alright getting most of them the same length. Next stage is ironing and hemming. #handweaving #handwoven #cotton #teatowels #janestaffordtextiles

I ended up weaving 10 in total, plus a small sample piece to practise my hemming. All that’s left now is to wash, iron and hem them. They feel so lovely — the cotton bouclé is wonderfully squishy. I’ve never woven from a kit before and really enjoyed the process (though of course I couldn’t resist adding a few of my own designs too). If anyone’s interested, Jane Stafford Textiles has a great range of kits for tea towels, scarves and more. #handweaving #weaving #handwoven #cottonboucle #cotton #janestaffordtextiles #teatowels

I loved this kit from Jane Stafford Textiles...enough on this cotton boucle warp for 9 tea towels. I'll keep you posted on my progress. #weaving #handweaving #janestaffordtextiles #cotton #teatowel #handwoven #boucle

A box of cotton gorgeousness arrived today. Even t A box of cotton gorgeousness arrived today. Even though I have been weaving for a long time, there is always so much to learn and sometimes you do get stuck in your own "groove', so I am doing the Jane Stafford Online Weaving School course. I decided to get all the cotton yarns for Season 2 and I can't wait to get stuck in!
Season 1 was pretty much the basics, but the amount of new techiques and new ways of doing things I learnt has been great. It has really given me a shot in the arm about weaving, and why I love it so much.
(Oh...and a new weaving shuttle and a couple of other yarns may have "accidently" been ordered too.) #weaving #janestaffordschoolofweaving #handwoven #textiles
